Progress report on Nuxeo 5.1 developmentA lot of coding work is going on, and I’m happy to report that most of the tasks we had planned for Nuxeo 5.1 in May have been implemented. Here are some details:
We have also been working on fully switching to Maven for building the Nuxeo platform (which will greatly improve the development workflow for both core developers and integrators), and we are almost ready to switch to this new build system. Overall, we’re quasi-ready to release a new milestone, Nuxeo 5.1M2, by the end of the week. We’re still expecting a 5.1 release in May. Documentation effortPlans for a Nuxeo Developer Reference Guide have been laid out in the SVN. Every module developer has been asked to contribute a chapter on his/her part. Related NewsSeam 1.2.1 has been released, but we are still using Seam 1.1.5 for now. In related news, Gavin King had a rather upbeat blog entry on how Seam adoption (as measured by download numbers) is happening faster than Hibernate, and how Seam is on the verge of reaching its tipping point. NWN goes sporadicLots of developments going on but no major news to report, so we took a couple of weeks off. We’re now back to a regular posting schedule, since we will have some new and noteworthy reports to post next weeks (Nuxeo 5.1M2 and beyond, documentation efforts, London seminar report, JavaOne report, etc.) About Nuxeo 5Nuxeo 5 is an open source ECM platform, designed for extensibility and to make it easy to develop application in the fields of document management, collaboration and workflow. There is a main mailing list, currently hosting both users and developers conversations: lists.nuxeo.com/mailman/listinfo/ECM. About Nuxeo Weekly NewsNuxeo Weekly News (or NWN in short), is published weekly by Nuxeo and dispatched to the Nuxeo mailing list and on the www.nuxeo.org website.
